Corneal endotheliitis with quantitative polymerase chain reaction positive for human herpesvirus 7.

چکیده

H uman herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7), a common virus of the subfamily of -herpesviruses like cytomegalovirus (CMV) and HHV-6, was isolated initially from peripheral blood cells in adults. It causes ubiquitous infection in children as well as exanthema subitum. However, HHV-7–related ocular manifestations have not been reported. We describe a patient with unilateral corneal endotheliitis with aqueous humor positive for HHV-7 DNA by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR).
